New room

I just moved into a new dorm area in Tokyo and I cant find any place to set up my rings or do any exercises.

Any suggestions how to keep up my workout?

No good trees or open struts on campus to hang them from? Check Parks close by, its unlikely there isn't a tree with a roughly horizontal branch or some jungle gym equipment to use.

Is there a gym with gymnastics equipment in the area. Assuming you are in a university dorm, universities will usually have a facility.

No the university doesnt have facilities, its in Tokyo very crowded.

I havent found any good tree, and my room is to small to do anything.

Find out where Ueno Park is. There are some great trees there! I lived in Japan for a while, if you're wondering why I know that. There are all kinds of parks tucked away in Tokyo, it's quite bizarre yet very nice!

Oh i see, I didnt know you lived here lol

I am living at Takadanobaba. But I will find it, you think its okay if I hang my rings from the trees there?

Just went to Ueno park today and it was great

but theres no place to put up the rings there

So I will keep looking, but I found a pullup bar, and it seems I can do almost everyting on that.

Which exercises are exclusive to rings?

Darn. I was hoping that would help! Even though it won't be ideal, that will be just fine. You can hang rings off of the bar for the dip work and most other XR stuff. There are a lot of local parks and playgrounds where you may find the perfect spot for your rings! I just don't know.

At least Ueno is still pretty!

There's some dip work like Bulgarians that are much more effective on the rings and hard to do on dip bars, but real parallel bars will work for them.

Obviously, the XR support is pretty exclusive to the rings lol! 360 pulls are more of a pain without them, but can be done. You really won't be all that limited. The XR build more strength than the PB or floor versions of things, but you'll still be juuuuuust fine without the perfect rings set up. Having said that, I'd still get them and use them on your pull up bar if nothing else.
