John Sapinoso
A side view is more helpful.Great work, a straddle planche is no simple feat. From here it appears too high and slightly crooked.
Alessandro Mainente
I also noticed I...i have more strength in the lower back on my left side...i don't know why but is to simple for me lift up the left leg than the rigth...maybe today i'll post a photo by the side...is possible that my planche is a tille bit high because when i learnt it, i've learn a tuck planche and an advanced tuck planche a little high because i cannot bent my leg more than 90/100 degress cause an injury of 5 years ago...i was on a surgery but the compromise between run, play football, jump, is that i cannot bent to musch my leg...in this way...if i did'nt want to touch the floor i had to lift up my ass...if i try tha planche of the parallets is possible to adjust the position or it's to late? Alessandro Mainente
this is the planche today...i think that i'll be not able to do after a stop of 4 weeks...i believed to have lost strength...but...i can hold this for 4-5 seconds..is not to much..but for me is a good goal
Razz
Looks pretty good, just a few degrees too high. Arms look like they are possible bending 1 or 2 degrees but that may just be the picture. Congratulations
Alessandro Mainente
yes the hips are my problem but is a small difference...i see many pictures on the web and some gymnasts don't have the back in a perfect horizontal position...my arms may seem to be a little bit bent but i'm sure that i've looked my elbow...thank you for the tips

Alessandro Mainente
yes.....but is more simple with the arms more close or not?
Razz
I don't know I just know that it should not become a bad habit that you are in between a maltese and planche position because you need to show clearly which of the two positions you are trying to do. If you're not competing it might not be such a big problem..
Alessandro Mainente
in fact i'm not competing...is just a big passion..the idea is try to do a maltese on the floor...maybe with the time...
Gregor
Bad cammera angle.hips are to high and arms little to wide. You are compensating a lack of a strength with wider hand position so other muscles are taking some of the task.Training for maltese and planche are to diffrent things, because muscles are not working the same so it's not like if maltese is harder then I must do planche first... Alessandro Mainente
in the maltese there is more stress on the bucep tendon than the planche?

Alessandro Mainente
in fact i hear more stress in this part of the arm...i know that is necessary a great tendon conditioning for the maltese but in youtube i saw a gymnast who has broken his bicep tendon...lack of strength in bicep tendon or not to much warm up?
