German Hang Pull (AKA Skin-the-Cat)
The German Hang Pull (AKA Skin-the-Cat) is a shoulder mobility exercise that requires the athlete's full body weight to rest into their shoulder extension (behind the back). The athlete uses muscles throughout their shoulder girdle to initiate movement out of the hang.

German Hang Pull (AKA Skin the Cat)
- Set a pair of gymnastic rings well overhead.
- Grab ahold of them, pull up slightly, and tuck your knees toward your chest.
- Keep a solid grip on the rings and spin backward 360-degrees.
- Extend your legs, straighten your elbows, and hang freely from full shoulder extension.
- Turn the rings so your palms are facing backward, fully extend your hips, and retract your shoulder blades.
- Keep your chest open, hips extended, and elbows locked.
- Now, keep straight elbows and knees, and pull your hips back over your shoulders to return to the starting position.
- Pull in and out of the German hang for reps.
