Dave James
I'm a competitive USAG Level 8+ gymnast. I have a recent bilateral strain and soreness with sudden onset, ie, did not develop over weeks or months. What have you found successful as far as recovery process and time? I'm 5-6 weeks until season competitions.
Daniel Burnham
What were you working when this occurred?
Dave James
Giant to plange....seems like a strain, but concerned about any kind of tear, as well as downtime in prep for season....happened last night. Ice, heat, ice, heat. Bilateral suggests strain/cramping. Dunno.
Dave James
I'm 12 years old, FYI. Thanks.
Daniel Burnham
You think it might be a strain from the bail from handstand? That may happen if you don't get the correct push out on the rings. Either way. I say rest a few days then work back up with band exercises. Also once the pain is gone work on lat mobility if them being tight is the problem.
