JoeJustice
Hey guysIts been a while since ive been logged on here, but the time has come again.I am trying to develop a full planche lean, i am actually quite close allthough i have only been trying it for a week or so. Theres a point where i am alittle confused "The scalpula placement"- Protracted- Depressed I get it, you do the protacted to help activate the hollow body, while also elevating you off the floor for a leanThe depression helps with getting the hands closer to balance point of the exercise "Hips" while activating the lat muscles. But i can do a pro-depressed position with a round back, but can also perform it with shoulderblades sticking out of my back "bruce lee move" wich one is correct? Ill post some pictures of the two, and of my planche lean for you guys to asses whats up and what i could do better. Thanks
Alessandro Mainente
The suggested form for beginner and intermediate people is protracted and depressed. who can demonstrate impressive strength and control over those 2 forms (elite or advanced level) can use a straight where the depression is held and the protraction is a little bit lower. JoeJustice
Thanks alot, ill post the pictures later today! I can actually do alittle kip and feel the hold in my planche, also this forum helped me achieve the back lever and front lever! Ive began to incooprate gymnastics into my training theory. Since i believe the quote: Exercises must be able to translate into others Strengthtraining, Yoga, Crossfit, and bar training. But in every of these aspects i see gymnastics really helping me achieve understanding aswell as skill for further overall development!

When you say straight, do you mean just with less protraction or no protraction. I know that would certainly be harder and I've seen Jotchev hold maltese with very little protraction before. Alessandro Mainente
i straight i mean with very little protraction while you can maintain correct glutes activation. the most average of people think that straight means use the lower back, that is not the case. the difference is little but substantial.
