Mike Hernandez
I ended up buying these wood FIG rings per a recommendation from forum member Aaron. This was a great price for wood FIG rings at $55 USD plus free shipping. http://www.muscledriverusa.com/-MDUSA-Wood-FIG-Gymnastic-Rings--11-in-Diameter--Pair-Free-Shipping-15-Off_p_2674.html I plan to do my F1 ring workouts at the gym on a Smith Machine bar. There is usually a Smith Machine free during my workout times. The straps included with my ring purchase will be too long and it seems the buckles are not great for quick set up and take down. I am thinking of shorter straps with carabiners to latch onto the bar of the Smith Machine. I already see hanging leg raise straps hooked onto the top of a squat rack with large carabiners at my gym. This is where I thought I would use the same type of carabiners for the rings but now I need to find shorter straps. Shorter straps with carabiners will definitely allow me efficient setup at the gym. Can others offer input on this or maybe another alternative? Thanks. Jean-Rene Losier
I have the same setup, the straps are also too long, so I just let them drag on the floor and set the appropriate height. I also don't set them onto the bar of the smith machine ( if you mean the adjustable bar...) I attach them on the top of the frame. I also attach them to top of squat racks, or pull up racks if the smith machine is used. Anything that's solid and of good enough height. The buckles look like the same as mine, and they are quick enough to take down. takes a minute or 2 to take them down and stored properly. ( they can definitely be taken down faster, I'm just not in that much of a rush when I do take them down...) You seem to be over-thinking and creating issues where there are none really. Unless I've just miss-understood some of the issues...

Mike Hernandez
You seem to be over-thinking and creating issues where there are none really. Yes, I tend to do that sometimes. I will give it a shot with the current straps and see how set up goes. I too plan to use a squat rack or pull up bar should the Smith Machine be unavailable. I was just looking for the most efficiency when setting up due to being mobile and not having a permanent place for my rings at home. Thanks. GoldenEagle
Oh. Like, for disabled people that don't have hands? No. The arm straps can be a substitute for stall bars while doing hanging knee/leg raises. Personally, I'll use the stall bars instead of the straps.
