Guest Christopher Bassett
Hello In regards to the Headstand pushup and elbow position, can they be like roughly 45 degrees or less pointed outward? My goal is the hollowback press eventually so I want to make sure that it is still be possible if I dont train with my elbows pointing 99% straight backwards. Trying to be super strict elbows back means I need to move quite far forward in front of my hands and I am just unsure if that is truly necessary. Alessandro Mainente
ELbows move in like every bent arm pressing work which involve handstand.
Coach Sommer
Hi Christopher, No need to overly worry about the elbow position on these. Incorrect elbow position is only possible when performing HeSPU against a wall or when overly spotted by a partner. As soon as you graduate to free standing HeSPU the elbows will automatically go to the correct position. Yours in Fitness, Coach Sommer
Guest Christopher Bassett
Hi Coach I am on the wall at the moment. I will focus on keeping my elbow position as straight as I can but not be overly strict about it. Thank you.
