Samuel Carr
I was at gymnastics class 3 days ago and was messing around doing front tucks into the foam pit. I over rotated one and landed on my face/stomach, but upper torso landed in an area lower than where my bottom half landed which caused my back to arch sharply (picture a scorpion). Since then there's pain on one side of my lower back and i think i probably just pulled that muscle. I've tried to do archup stretches, bridges, and wall walks to try and get in there and stretch the muscle, but it hurts too much when i try it. Should i just wait it out? Amebix138
If you can afford it, a good chiropractic manipulation can help quite a bit with training induced back pain. Although you think the pain is muscular and not spinal so maybe its not the best thing. Have you tried getting in there with your fists or a tennis ball or broomstick and do some deep tissue messaging?
Samuel Carr
Ya ive been trying to stretch it our and using a broom stick and exercise ball to try and untighten it. I also went to a yoga class last week which seemed to help relax it
Scott Kane
Look up sponylolisthesis and spondylolysis. Definately get evaluated by a trusted physician. An xray can confirm these. Hyperextension of the low back can lead to either or both of these. I should know. I was misdiagnosed for 7 months. If you have pain on flexion, it may be discogenic in nature. I'd be careful overdoing rehab until you know the cause of your lbp.
