Andrew Wilson 226962
There's quite a bit of criticism of "stretching" in certain fitness circles, particularly endurance. I have my own ideas to distinguish what they call "stretching" from active, strength-based mobility, I'd be curious to have the response of this community to these critiques: https://philmaffetone.com/dangers-of-stretching/ http://www.drgangemi.com/natural-fitness/stop-stretching/ Thanks! Everett Carroll
Hey Andrew, It's pretty simple. We stretch to increase our range of motion, improve our quality of life, prevent injury, and increase performance. It works to combat the effects of sedentary jobs, years of inactivity, and tight muscles from training/sport. We need it, despite what some may say. The best in the world are stretching to boost their health, performance, and recovery, so we do to There are always naysayers. 3
