Alex Chaney
Is it just me or does this seem like the ultimate full-body pair? With this combo, one would develop the entire shoulder girdle, core, backside, hips more and more. It just seems like the most bang for buck combination any athlete could do for strength, power and mobility. EDIT: Really any pull from floor (e.g. olympic lifts, sumo, conventional, snatch-grip etc.) and any press HS variation (manna press, planche press, HBP, stalder etc.) could be included and even cycled. It depends on the nature of the pairing: - if the goal is the antagonist's muscles the pairing should be press to handstand with something for pulling in the full range of motion so probably front lever raise; if the goal is a range of motion balance then press to handstand goes with manna so that full flexion is balanced with full extension and protraction is balanced with retraction; - if we talk bout hips then we have hips hinge vs hips flexion so it can be a good solution for this purpose - if we talk about balancing elbow girdle probably press to handstand goes with chin variation. what defines the nature of pairing depends on the necessity of the sports. In regards to elbow girdle balance, any reason why a chin-up variation would be a good choice?

Deadlift --> straight elbows with a pronated grip (no mention about mixed grip); CHin up --> bent elbows and supinated grip.
