William Reed
I ripped my hands open again yet again. I decided I wanted to do this Crossfit workout: 30 bar Muscle ups (kipping)for time. This gym has bars with rubber over them. Well, I chalked up my hands for better grip. This may of made it worse. I was on 20 and a small tear on the palm of my right hand, no big deal. On 25.......... rip three nice sized tears right below my calluses on my left hand. I know most people don't really buy grips unless they plan on flying around on their rings or the high bar.But does anyone use grips or gloves for regular bar work that includes swinging exercises (muscle ups)? I guess all this could teach me to just stick to regular muscle ups on my rings.I did get some nice forearm stands before I finally left the gym. Michael Traynor
booo down with crossfit! etc, But don't bar hitters/crossfitters just use gardening gloves or workman's gloves? The kind of tight fitting neoprene ones?As far as gymnastics work goes as you say ring grips are for more advanced stuff and usually athletics tape is enough for gymnastics work because we don't kip.
