Warrior'sSuite
I don't know why but it seems i hate the l-sit right now. Probably because it is hard and uncomfortable, but i do it anyways. So i just had 1 question: is it ok to work up to a 60s l-sit on paralletes/push up bars/PB before doing it on the floor? Obviously on all these 3 things it is way easier than on the floor. I was doing bent leg l-sit but i got sick of it because i wanted to do it with legs straight, somehow i despised it. So i tried with my push up bars and found i could hold the straight leg l-sit for 20s, so this is what i have been doing for like 3 weeks maybe, and it's getting better and higher.I tried the l-sit on the floor right now and i could only hold it for 15s. Damn hard! Even my chest contracted very hard.
Cole Dano
Yes its ok. Just think of it as a sub progression. Once you get 3 x 1 minute consistently then move to the floor.

Cole Dano
HS is a skill, you have to practice at it. As someone said earlier, you wouldn't play guitar for a minute a day and expect to get good at it.Though anything we do involves some element of skill, we can always refine and perfect anything. L-sit is a basic static strength element. There is some flexibility involved and with minute holds some endurance, and will power. The idea, as i've understood, is for a static element you are 'working on' to do until you hit it 3 times at the time standard and then go on to the next step in the progression. In the warmups, the idea is to only go to about 50% of your max. for working times. So the process to build up to 3 x one minute can take a while. Time and consistency do the work for you. However if you are working on an element, particularly a lower level one, you can work it at much more than 50% even in the warm up. Cole Dano
Since no one else is giving their opinion, all i can say i adapt what has been said to your circumstances.A skill is something that isn't necessarily super physically demanding to do but takes a lot of practice to do. HS is like the, levers etc are more about strength and not that technically difficult.
Warrior'sSuite
I see. Thanks for replying so quickly btw.But you left me a little confused when i asked you if i could do more than 1 min of l-sit each day i do it, or if 1min is enough. Personally i think doing more than 1min would be better for me, but i don't know if i should; so far the l-sit has been the most like unpredictable, i mean that on the other statics my times are always the same or improving, but the l-sit sometimes gets harder even though i always do it with the others. Maybe it's because lately i think i've been putting on a little bit of weight, i haven't weighed myself yet but sometimes i just feel heavier when doing the l-sit. Cole Dano
In general, we have stronger and weaker days. I personally fluctuate quite a lot. Development isn't really linear, so don't let the changes in your L sit disturb you.By all means, if you want to develop your L sit put more time into it. Like i said, Coach expects his athletes to do a total of three minutes, and that as part of their warm up. If you are putting more time into statics than you can make any kind of timed set rep system that works for you. If you do really heavy days you might suffer the next, so take that into account for scheduling. In other words you might work really hard on Lsit one day and find the next day or two seem worse, plan those as light L sit days.
