David Barclay
Hi all, I am wondering your thoughts on rice based protein powder. I was in the health food store yesterday, and saw it displayed as a protein supplement for a vegetarian diet.I eat primarily vegetarian based diet, but do eat fish regularly for my protein needs. (no, I don't refer to myself as a vegetarian, just as a guy who doesn't eat meat.)I have considered trying something of this nature; I have used whey based powders, but to put it mildly, they don't do much for my digestive system....thanks,David
Rower
I use a Rice Protein Powder. I bought quite a lot of it for the sake of reducing my dairy intake, which is rather high, and use it almost daily. If you have problems with Whey it is probably worth a try. Another option would be Pea Protein, but that's very expensive, at least here in germany. One word of caution: Check exactly where the rice is from! Rice Protein Powders are almost exclusively made from chinese rice, and you don't want to eat that, believe me. There is so much pollution going on, that even most of the locals don't eat it.Sunwarrior is a good brand, but it is very expensive too.
Blairbob
In Sliz's food thread I linked some specs to rice protein but I've never tried it. Seems pretty good though.
