I have grown so much (knowledge and character wise, and a little bit physically) since the last time I posted here that it is quite nostalgic to post here. Anyway, I would like to get to the point at hand. What if there was a food that you could grow yourself, that multiplies like magic, and is probably one of the best things you can put in your body? Well, there are two types of algae called chlorella and spirulina, and if what I have read so far is true, they are absolute nutrient, energy, and detoxifying powerhouses.There are many articles on the internet on the health benefits and how to grow it yourself. I just wanted to make you guys aware of it. Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to try it so I can't give first hand experience, but I hope to get started with it as soon as I can. I think that it will also serve you best to form your own opinions about it. Just wanted to give back to this community in some way since you guys helped me out so much previously. No doubt a highly motivated person could manage it, but whetherit is fool-proof enough to become popular is another story.Protein-wise it's among the best plant sources, plus lots of minerals an micro-nutrients.I suppose if I were a vegetarian I would be more likely to pursue it. Protein-wise it's among the best plant sources, plus lots of minerals an micro-nutrients.I suppose if I were a vegetarian I would be more likely to pursue it.There are so many far more convenient, and cheaper, vegetarian sources of protein and nutrients that I don't have much motivation to give it a whirl. Research on chlorella and spirulina as dietary supplements still has a lot of ground to cover, from what I've read, so I suppose there's not much to do but wait for future studies to reach a better conclusion. It really doesn't seem like it's at the point yet where it's worth choosing over other foods in the diet, especially when it costs a bit more. Chase it if you have to. I was so proud of our two little up and coming gymstars when they were willing to chug down some gatorade chocolate flavored sludgelink protein in a can. They made such faces but they were just gonna keep chugging it until we said they didn't have to. They would if they thought it was good for them. Then again, Lauren was crazy.
