Patrick Van de Glind
Hey guys, Currently I am logging my workouts in Evernote, which was fine until today.Because today I wanted to look back at my rings dips progress and in order to do thati had to look up all workouts with dips in the rings and then put them in Exceland make a chart to see the progress.. this too me at least an hour. So now I'm curious how do you track workouts and track progress over time?and if possible even have a reminder for an SSCycle? Also tracking in Excel (I think) doesn't seem to really work over time, because you will get a HUGE filewith all the different workout logs which you would have to carefully organize to not create a big mess.. Thanks! PS:I tried an app called Fitocracy in the past, but it has no focus on bodyweight trainingand barely any of the movements we do, so I deleted it, however it would be a great appfor the purpose
Mats Trane
Been looking for the same for a long time. Tried a few apps but always ended up using excel or Numbers. Right now I'm using Numbers on my IPhone. I used one App that you might like it's called FT90 CE. There you can create your own exercises and so on. emos
I just use a notebook and pen - I've got about ten years of records like that. I'd worry if I needed a spreadsheet to find out whether I was progressing or not...
Patrick Van de Glind
I'd worry if I needed a spreadsheet to find out whether I was progressing or not...I agree with that, however in my attempt to progress at the Planche lean, I wanted to take a long term looksince I started, and overcame tendon problems to see if I was at or further progressed for this half yearthan before that.. there are many ways to do this, however notebook is a time consuming one. Jon Douglas
Any format that requires minimal effort to record, hence will be updated regularly and easily compared to previous/later workouts so that you are clear about your progress. I put 3 sections in a standard log forum post here;- Daily statics/ warmup movements- Specific warmup- WoD Copy-paste the days wod in, trim down the comments to only the ones which directly describe what I've done, such as tempo or substitutes, and put a section of my own impressions and comments underneath. Simple, quick, easy to compare. Every six weeks my static section gets updated. That might be less tech than you were hoping for, but it does the job.
